They've received many awards in all aspects of design and have developed an outstanding portfolio with clients such as Altoids, Lego, and Lexus.
WDDG's studio website is a thing of beauty; at first glance it appears to be a standard html site, no flash, nothing really all that spectacular. Personally I thought it was a website for some sort of war game, however, once you start navigating through the pages you'll start noticing little animations such as clouds moving in the header, miniature paratroopers dropping out of the sky, tanks rolling across the bottom of the screen, and a variety of other very subtle animations.
Besides being a well developed hybrid site with the flash animations embedded throughout the header, body, and footer, wddg is also a web standard compliant site making it accessible to a much larger audience at the same time. Each page is coded so if the end user doesn't have a flash player on their computer the animation changes to a jpg or gif, allowing any user to view the site no matter what plug-ins they have or don't have.
I must admit seeing a website with old torn up paper as a background wasn't too appealing at first, but with all of the talent and time put into this site with the well executed war theme, subtle flash effects, a strong portfolio, and a user friendly navigation, this site is well worth being acknowledged as one of the better online design studios out there.
